The OSF Saint
Francis Sleep Disorders Center is a source of help for adults,
children and infants with sleep disorders. A comprehensive
array of services is provided with professional care in a comfortable,
warm environment. Sarah Nath Zallek, MD, a board certified sleep
specialist and neurologist, is director of the Center.
Margaret
Vogelsang, R.N. PA-C, a physician assistant with a masters
degree in adult education, and Teresa Valerio, M.S., A.M.S.N.,
A.P.N., C.N.P., a family nurse practitioner, work very closely
with Dr. Zallek caring for patients in the center. Evaluation,
testing, interpretation of studies and follow-up are all done
in one state-of-the-art center. Dr. Zallek and the Sleep Disorders
Center staff take great pride in the fact that patients receive
not only professional evaluation and testing, but also exceptional
follow-up and support.
Testing
for sleep disorders normally requires and overnight sleep study.
Therefore, the sleep study
bedrooms have been
designed
with the comforts of home. Patients enjoy a queen-sized bed,
private full bath, television, desk with a data port, recliner
and more.
Testing
is painless. Experienced technologists use integrated digital
video imaging for recording the studies.
This allows
the physicians to interpret the patient's sleep data and
sleep-related behavior at once. The Center is a resource
for physicians with
patients needing sleep evaluation and/or testing.
Physician
referral is required. Referring physicians receive timely
reports of all consultations and test results.
